a guide to lesser known pizza ingredients.........
stracchino - a melty cows milk cheese. has a zesty tang that goes well with vegetables. taleggio - an italian washed rind cheese with a manky smell, but a lovely, nutty flavour when cooked. fior di latte - a soft, milky white cheese. like a larger, sliced version of bocconcini. provolone - a spicy, semi-hard italian cheese. slightly tangy flavour. tartufata - a paste made from truffle and mushroms and used as a base instead of tomato sauce. scamorza - a cross between standard mozzarella and fior di latte.....and oh sooo tasty with a great 'melt' to it. speck - honey smoked pig belly. basically, it's a fancy cross between prosciutto and bacon. sujuk - a smokey 100% beef Turkish sausage.
extra toppings are $1.50 for small pizzas and $2.50 forlarge.
extra special toppings will be charge accordingly.
On Thursday nights gluten free pizza bases are available. There is a small surcharge.
n.b. even though we do our best, gluten free bases may contain traces of flour or semolina. Call ahead and reserve a base.
